Sam Fender-Truck Festival 2022

Just a week after his 45,000 capacity sell out show at Finsbury Park, Sam and the lads played their second ever headline set at Truck Festival in Oxfordshire.

Sam and his fellow band mates; Joe Atkinson, Dean Thompson, Johnny Blue hat, Dru Michael, Tom Ungerer and Mark Webb hit the stage with the iconic opener "Will We Talk?" The unstoppable anthem kicks in with distorted guitars, before the crowd sing along to the opening lyrics "Blue Monday blaring out the speakers..." and a sea of beer raining down over excited fans.

Just before Sam moved onto his second song he stopped to welcome "an absolute legend, a national treasure on stage, you will know him as Barry from EastEnders." The whole crowed echoed into roars of screams as Barry joined Sam to sing "Getting Started" on stage.

As Sam performed his et he stopped to introduce that "the next two songs are punk rock songs" and "feel free to mosh but look after each other and pick each other up if they go down."

Setting the tempo for the punk rock section of the set, Geordie legend kicked off with "Spice", from the Dead Boys EP released back in 2018. Due to the crowd moshing too hard the partnered song that would follow "Howdon Aldi Death Queue" unfortunately had to be cut off the set to prevent anymore incidents and time loss.

A week before Truck festival, Sam released the new single "Alright" which he played live for the third time ever on Saturday evening. As the song was introduced and he told everyone to go stream it, the crowd erupted into roars of screams. This was a very exciting moment for all the Sam Fender fans out in the crowd that night.

Sam finished off his 13 song set with an absolute classic "Hypersonic Missiles" back from his debut album in September 2019. This song was the perfect way to finish off the night, as smoke blew from the stage into the crowd and fire shot into the air.

The song came to a close and the night ended with a "Thank you, Goodnight" from Sam, and the band giving a wave whilst running off stage.
